NIS Organises Free Medical Outreach in Lagos
The Lagos State Branch of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) has organised a free medical outreach that benefitted no fewer than 500 people in Ikeja.
Part of the benefits included health checks like cervical and breast cancer tests, prostate screening, blood pressure, blood sugar and eye tests, as well as counselling. Beneficiaries also got free drugs and eyeglasses.
Speaking at the event, the Lagos State Chairman of NIS, Olukolade Kasim, said the outreach, which marked the yearly general meeting (AGM) of the institution, was part of a move to give back to the society.
He said that the outreach was to help prevent underlying health issues before they get aggravated.
Also, the Chairperson of the AGM organising committee and Internal Auditor of NIS, Patricia Okoeguale, said that the outreach was for the public’s good and also to prevent underlying issues from aggravating.
Further speaking, she urged the beneficiaries to always prioritise their health after the programme.
