Comparison of Prices From January 2021- October 2021
In this piece, we’re going to examine and do a comparison of some building materials prices from January to October 2021.
CEMENT AND BLOCKS
50kg bag of Cement was N3,500.00 in January but the price went up to N3,850.00 by October. This gives us a price difference of N350.00.
Cement per tonne (20 bags) was N70,000.00 in January, the price shoot up to N77,000.00; price difference of N7,000.00.
Sand crete block 9 x 9 x 18 was N260.00 in January but became N300.00 in October; price difference of N40.
Sand crete block 6 x 9 x 18 was N220.00 in January but became N240.00 in October; price difference of N20.00
Perforated /screen blocks 10 x 14 was N660.00 in January, the price rose to N900.00 in October; a price difference of N240.00.
Hollow clay brick 18 x 14 / was N585.00 in January, the price rose to N730.00 in October; price difference of N145.00
Hollow clay pot 200*400*250 was N610.00 in January while the price rose to N650.00 in October; price difference of N40.00.
Granite per 30ton lorry load trip was N200,000.00 in January, the price shoots up to N245,000.00 in October; price difference of N45,000.00.
Sharp sand per tipper load (20tonnes) in January was N60,000.00 in October the price rose to N70,000.00; price difference of N10,000.00.
Soft sand per tipper load ( 20tonnes) in January was N58,000.00, the price rose to N65,000.00 in October, the price difference of N7,000.00.
Filling sand (red laterite) per tipper load (5 tonne) was N40,000.00 in January. By October the price rose to N42,000.00; the price difference of N2,000.00.
Filling sand (white sand) per tipper load (20 tonne) was N47,000.00 in January. By October the price has risen to N80,000.00; the price difference of N33,000.00.
Quarry dust material (30ton lorry) trip in January was N150,000.00. The price rose to N210,000.00 in October; price difference of N60,000.00.
The story remains the same in the aspect of Timber (HARDWOOD – AKUN).
A 2 x 6 x 12 per length in January was N1,500.00 the price rose to N1,750.00 in the month of October; a price difference of N250.00.
2 x 4 x 12 per length in January was N1,000.00 while the price rose to N1,200.00 in October with price difference of N200.00.
2 x 3 x 12 per length in January was N600.00, in October it became N800.00 in October with a slight difference of N200.00.
1 x 12 x 12 per length in January was N2,200.00 and the price rose in October to N2,500.00 with a slight difference of N300.00.
3 x 4 x 12 per length in January was N1,400.00 the price increased to N1,600.00 in October; difference of N200.00.
The price of SOFT WOOD (AFARA) remains the same from January to October
2 x 4 x 12 N900.00 per length
2 x 3 x 12 N600.00 per length
1 x 2 x 12 N1550.00 per length
2 x 2 lgth 400.00 per length
For white Plywood, the prices are as follow;
The price of ¾ x 4 x 8 remains the same as N7,800.00 from January to October.
1/4 x 4 x 8 was N3,800.00 January but the price jumped to N4,200.00 by October; price difference of 400.00
White plywood board cost N4,600.00 in January, the price however rose to N5,000.00 by October; price difference of N400.00.
Marine plywood cost N8,500.00 in January, by October the price has skyrocketed to N13,000.00; with a huge price difference of N4,500.00.
Laminated Plywood in January cost about N10,500.00 but the price jumped to N14,800.00; a price difference of N4,300.00.
