C of O of 435 Properties In FCT May Be Revoked
The Federal Capital Territory’s Department of Land Administration has issued a warning to the owners of 435 uncompleted buildings in and around the capital city.
The department has warned that the owners either complete such buildings or have their titles revoked. An overview of buildings on the plots in question shows that they are majorly either at foundation, ground floor or second floor levels. The buildings are majorly located in Central Area, Garki I &II, Maitama, Asokoro, Wuse I and Wuse II. Other areas are Utako, Wuye and Jabi.
A look through the roll call of owners shows that about 70 per cent are institutions while the rest are individuals.
Popular owners listed include; Lead bank, Mike Adenuga, Oludare Victor Obasanjo, Kola Daisi, Ituah Ighodalo, Nigerian Postal Service, United Nigerian Textiles and the Government of the Republic of Trinidad And Tobago.
Other notable plots and their owners include Plot No 1052, Plot RV46, Rumodani Elelewo, Obio/Akpor LGA, Port Harcourt, Rivers State owned by Selina Farms Limited, Plot 602, FCT owned by Adkan Services, Nigeria Limited and Plot 512 at ground floor level owned by IAS Cargo Airlines Nigeria Ltd.
The advert published in the Wednesday December 22 edition of ThisDay Newspaper, by the department, advised owners of abandoned and uncompleted buildings in the Federal Capital City that such buildings have become a source of security breach within the city and was therefore of great concern to the government.
It also noted that such buildings have become shelters for unintended occupants as well as criminal minded persons who use such as hideouts.
