Power Outage Hits Nine Ogun Communities as Egbin Generation Drops
Several communities in Ogun State, including the capital city of Abeokuta, are grappling with power outages due to a decline in power generation from the Egbin power station. The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) disclosed this information late on Thursday night through its social media platforms.
The affected areas, as listed by IBEDC, include Sango, Ota, Ilaro, Ayetoro, Imeko, Mowe, Ibafo, and Magboro, in addition to Abeokuta and its environs. The power distribution company attributed the outage to a reduction in generation capacity at the Egbin power station.
In its announcement, IBEDC assured the public that its technical team was actively collaborating with relevant stakeholders to expedite the restoration of power supply to the affected communities. Despite the inconvenience caused, the company expressed regret and issued an apology to the impacted residents.
