The World Bank Group is launching a solicitation process to hire a general contractor for a ground up construction of its country office located in Abuja, Nigeria.

The proposed new office building is a standalone facility comprising of a two-level parking garage and 4 floors (Ground, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Floor). The built area is approximately 2000 square meters, and the 2-level parking garage is approximately 2,300 square meters.

The general contractor (GC) will perform the ground up office construction work according to the design specifications, drawings, WBG design standards, construction schedule, international and local building codes. The works will include but not be limited to the core and shell of the new building, interior construction and finishing works, i.e., floors, ceilings, partitions, doors and frames, fixtures, heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) system, fire protection systems, security, IT, etc.

The works shall also include the demolition of the existing annex building, relocation of existing utility lines, and modifications to the Sallyport (Guard house and main entrance to the compound) and perimeter fence. The scope also includes external works such as the façade of the new as well as the existing building and connecting the new building to the existing main office building. This is to ensure that both buildings will have the same façade look and feel when construction is finalized.

Bidders must meet all mandatory criteria to be eligible for technical evaluation.

Mandatory criteria include but is not limited to:

·         Minimum average annual turnover in Construction/ Architectural, Civil and Interior Works   of USD 30 M for the last 4 years.

·         Financial soundness and capability to successfully support the entire contract.

·         Registered and is authorized to engage in the Construction Business, Civil Works, Construction Services in Abuja, Nigeria

·         Experience in providing similar service in term of nature, size and complexity.

·         Ability to secure insurance coverage as per WBG requirements

·         The walkthrough of the site and pre-proposal meeting will take place on May 15, 2023.

Proposal submission deadline 26 June 2023 17.00 Abuja, Nigeria, Local time, only electronic copy will be accepted.
