Oborevwori Approves Land for Federal Medical Varsity, Kwale
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has given the green light for the establishment of the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Kwale, situated in the Ndokwa West Local Council of the state.
The approval was confirmed by Chief Emamusi Obiodeh, the Commissioner for Lands, Surveys, and Urban Development, who made the announcement in Asaba yesterday. The selected site, which formerly housed the School of Marine Technology in Kwale, spans 15 hectares and includes existing facilities and infrastructure previously utilized by the Kwale campus until its relocation to the permanent site. Notably, the university is slated for a subsequent move to a spacious 100-hectare permanent site at Umuseti-Kwale.
Expressing gratitude to the Federal Government for choosing Delta State as the host for this crucial specialized university, Governor Oborevwori underscored his administration’s commitment to collaboration. He affirmed the state’s readiness to engage with the Federal Government and other serious investors capable of making substantial contributions to the region.
Commissioner Obiodeh conveyed the governor’s directive to allocate land to investors prepared to partner with the state, emphasizing the importance of such collaborations in fostering positive impacts on the lives of Deltans and other Nigerians.
This strategic move aligns with the state’s broader vision for growth and development, positioning Delta as a hub for education and healthcare excellence.
