Raimi Aminu has resigned from the position of Ondo State Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing.

Aminu’s resignation letter was on Thursday addressed to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Ondo State, Aminu said his decision to resign was informed by the demise of his boss, Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, who died in office as Governor of Ondo State.

He said: “I write to tender my resignation as the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing with effect from today, December 28, 2023.

“This decision is anchored in my conscience as my leader and dear boss, Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, joined the Saint Triumphant.

“I sincerely thank our dear Arakunrin and the good people of the state for the opportunity to serve in his cabinet as Senior Special Assistant on Lands and Infrastructure, Special Adviser on Lands, Works and Infrastructure as well as Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing.”

Aminu’s resignation followed of the Chief Press Secretary to the late governor, Richard Olatunde, and also the Special Adviser to Akeredolu on Special Duties and Union Matters, Dare Aragbaye.

Akeredolu’s death was announced on Wednesday after a period of illness that prevented him from exercising his duty as governor of Ondo.
