The house of a traditional ruler of Bokkos Local Government Area, Micheal Monday Adanchi, has been torched by protesting women.

According to sources, the women were protesting the arrest of alleged suspects of Christmas eve killings in Plateau State.

One source was quoted by ThisDay, “The incident began at the police station where they expressed their anger over the arrest of some members of the community. After leaving the police station, they proceeded to the house of the traditional ruler, protesting that he was a sellout. A few minutes after reaching the house, they set it ablaze.”

When contacted, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Alabo Alfred, said he would call the DPO of the area and get back to our correspondent. The state police command, on Thursday night, confirmed the arrest of eight persons in connection with the killing of over 100 persons in the state on Christmas eve. But the women have insisted that members of the community arrested are not the attackers because the attackers spoke in a strange language.
