The Founder and CEO of MISA Limited, MURITALA ADEGBOYEGA IBRAHEEM literarily left his footprints on the sands of Lagos State. From the high rises in Ikoyi and Lekki to the sprawling townhouse developments in Lekki and min- estates in Osborne, he left his stamp in the annals of real estate development in Nigeria.
THE BEGINNING
Murtalha Ibraheem was the son of Jimoh Oyedele Ibrahim (popularly known as Inaolaji), from Ikire, Osun State and Kikelomo Ibraheem of Benin, Edo State
THE EARLY YEARS
Murtalha was born on 4 December 1970 and brought up in Akure, where he attended primary school. His academicpromise earned him a place at the prestigious Federal Government College (FGC), Kano, where he completed his secondary education.
Driven by curiosity and ambition, he then travelled to the United States of America to further his studies, a formative chapter that broadened his horizons and laid the foundations for his entrepreneurial life.
BUILDING A LEGACY — MISA NIGERIA LIMITED
On his return to Nigeria, Murtalha founded MISA Nigeria Limited in September 1996. What began as a real estate venture quickly grew into a fully integrated property and building-materials group. In a bold act of faith, he moved from agency/commission transactions to land speculation.
Murtalha identified gaps in the real estate sector and started a backward integration process in the Misa construction process. Misa began to import a comprehensive range of quality building materials; importing doors, sanitary ware, lights fittings, sockets and switches, thereby ensuring excellence at every stage of construction
Murtalha was a believer in Nigeria and Nigerian talent. He recruited experienced, competent engineers and support staff
from all over Nigeria to bring to life his vision of a world class Nigerian real estate company. Today the MISA portfolio
includes landmark buildings such as the iconic Ulesh development, a 15-floor office building on Glover Road, Ikoyi, Missi Apartment in Banana Island and Phoenix Apartments In Lekki 1, all testament to his conviction that Nigerians can
build world-class infrastructure in Nigeria.
