Warning on FCT Abuja Mass Housing Schemes

The Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority has issued a warning on FCT Mass Housing Schemes.

Below is the text of the warning:

PUBLIC ANNOUNMENT ON MASS HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS

This is to inform the General Public that in order to protect the Mass Housing programme of the FCT Administration and the finances of the Citizens from fraudulent Developers

who have been defrauding innocent Citizens through sales of Mass Housing Plots within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the FCT Administration through its Department ofMass Housing/PPP wishes to state categorically that;

1. The FCT Gazetted Mass Housing Guideline prohibits sales of Mass Housing Plots including the issued LETTERS OF INTENT. They are not for SALE to the General Public.
2. All Allottees of Mass Housing Schemes have No LEGAL RIGHT to Sale, Assign, Sublet or Part with possession of any part of the Lands/Plots Allocated to them by the Honourable Minister of FCT to Develop / Participate in Mass Housing Development Programme (PPP) within Federal Capital Territory Abuja;
3. That it is strictly PROHIBITED to sell or alienate the whole or part of a Mass Housing Allocation;
4. That any attempt by persons to sell or part with possession of the Mass Housing Plots is not only illegal but a contravention of the guidelines and regulations of the Mass Housing Development Programme of the FCT which will lead to an instant REVOCATION of the said Allocation and also attract Legal action against such Developer. We therefore make bold to state that these facts are well known to All the Developers of Mass Housing Schemes in FCT; ABUJA
5. That the FCDA Department of Mass Housing/PPP will not process Title documents for Subscribers/ Offtakers whose Developers have not paid the compulsory fees ofN250,000 (Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira only) and Land Commitment fee to obtain the Development Lease Agreement to the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) as stated in the FCT Gazetted Mass Housing Guideline;

The warning on FCT Abuja Mass Housing Schemes concludes

Finally, we therefore want the General Public is to note that all Allocations of Mass Housing Plots are guided and developed in partnership with the FCT Administration under theDevelopment Lease Agreement. We further advice and warn the General Public to always endeavour to conduct an independent legal search in the office of the Director of Land Administration; AGIS and the Department of Mass Housing/PPP to verify the AUTHENTICITY and the DETAILS of the Mass Housing Schemes and the integrity of Developers where they desire to Subscribe for their individual Houses in the FCT-Abuja.

The Subscribers should not buy Houses in Estates where the Developers have not paid both the compulsory N250,000.00 registration fees and land commitment fee of the Development Lease Agreement to the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) Abuja.
